Angry Blackmen Announce New Album “The Legend of ABM”; Share Lead Single “Stanley Kubrick”

Chicago hip-hop duo Angry Blackmen, composed of Quentin Branch and Brian Warren, has announced release details of their new album, The Legend of ABM, which scheduled to drop on January 26th, 2024, via Deathbomb Arc. Accompanying this announcement is the premiere of their lead single and video, “Stanley Kubrick.”

Reflecting on the album’s themes, Angry Blackmen‘s Quentin Branch states, “For us, this album is kinda like our villain origin story, a bedtime story and introduction to those who have and haven’t heard of us yet. Black men have historically been the boogie men of America, so I think it’s fitting that we tell our own legend.”

The single “Stanley Kubrick” showcases Angry Blackmen‘s commanding presence and lyrical prowess. The video, directed by Jon Le Vert, complements their dynamic energy, setting the tone for what the The Legend of ABM promises to be—an immersive narrative experience.

Since forming in 2016, Branch and Warren have been no strangers to experimentation within the hip-hop scene. Their journey began with a bang with the single “OK!,” and they’ve been refining their sound ever since, leading to collaborations with Deathbomb Arc, known for its boundary-pushing artists like Death Grips and JPEGMAFIA.

The Legend of ABM boasts an 11-track lineup that delves into personal stories of struggle and resilience. With production from Formants, the album is anticipated to be Angry Blackmen‘s most potent offering to date, with a unique blend of hip-hop flavors and a raw, unfiltered look at contemporary life’s challenges. Track “Dead Men Tell No Lies” will feature Fatboi Sharif, and “Amor Propio” includes Nordra, with other notable collaborations throughout the album.
