Laura Jane Grace Shares new Single “Dysphoria Hoodie”
“Dysphoria Hoodie” follows Grace‘s 2021 EP, At War With The Silverfish, which spotlighted the artist’s adeptness at channeling deep-rooted emotions into evocative music. The latest track, “Dysphoria Hoodie,” stands as a tribute to a specific kind of personal shield.
In Grace‘s words, “This is a song about gender dysphoria and your favourite hooded sweatshirt.” Delving further into the message behind the song, she elaborates, “Any trans person out there knows what a dysphoria hoodie is — it’s the hoodie you wear when feeling low and dysphoric. My dysphoria hoodie happens to be an Adidas hoodie, so yes, this is in fact really just a tribute song to my favourite Adidas hoodie.”
