Deap Vally Share “Baby I Call Hell” And Announce Farewell Tour
In a bittersweet announcement, Los Angeles rock duo, Deap Vally, released their new single “Baby I Call Hell” (Deap Vally‘s Version), a teaser to their re-recorded debut LP, SISTRIONIX 2.0, set to be unveiled in Spring 2024. The record, which is also their farewell offering, will be released on their own Deap Vally Records.
Lindsey Troy, one half of the fiery duo, expressed her nostalgia for the single stating, “‘Baby I Call Hell’ is quintessential Deap Vally. It was the first song we ever wrote as a band. Re-recording that song was a mix of fun and pressure, as we wanted to recapture the song’s magic.”

Marking the end of an electrifying era, Deap Vally has scheduled a series of concerts where they’ll perform SISTRIONIX in its entirety. The celebration for the album’s 10th anniversary will kick off in San Diego, Troy’s hometown, on November 11th, 2023, followed by performances across the US. The duo will be supported by L.A. Witch, Death Valley Girls, Sloppy Jane, and Spoon Benders on select dates.
Recalling their vibrant journey, Troy reminisced, “SISTRIONIX is just classic Deap Vally. It encapsulates an era of wild nights, endorphin rushes, and adventures.” Julie Edwards, the other half of the duo, added, “We’re just going to play as many places as we can and say farewell to everyone. The band may stop performing live, but our collaboration might still continue.”

Emerging from a chance meeting in a knitting class, Deap Vally made a roaring debut in 2012 with “Gonna Make My Own Money”. Their roller-coaster journey saw three albums, with notable collaborations, tours, and festival appearances with bands like Blondie and Red Hot Chili Peppers. However, challenges in personal and professional life led them to rethink their conventional approach to music.
As the duo embarks on this farewell, Lindsey Troy emphasized their bond saying, “Julie and I have an uncanny creative relationship. It’s hard to ever picture having that with someone else. This occasion is about healing wounds, reconnecting, and falling in love with Deap Vally all over again.”
