The Joy Formidable Drop New Single And Video “Cut Your Face”

Welsh alt-rockers The Joy Formidable unveiled their latest single, “Cut Your Face,” accompanied by a new music video. Released via Enci Records in North America, Full Time Hobby/Hassle in Europe, and Soundly Distro globally, the track is a poignant ode to self-acceptance.

The band’s lead vocalist and guitarist, Ritzy Bryan, shared her personal connection with the song, saying, “’Cut Your Face’ is a reminder to myself that even in shyness, when that voice is telling you to hide away, that what I really want is deep, authentic connection. The only way to satisfy that longing is to be vulnerable, messy and imperfect…and life is all the more beautiful because of it.”

The Joy Formidable, consisting of Ritzy Bryan, Dafydd, and drummer Matt Thomas, hails from North Wales but currently divides their time between their homeland and Utah, seeking a US location reminiscent of their Welsh roots. Despite their geographical split, the band has maintained a tight-knit relationship with their fanbase, initiating the TJF Music Club in 2019. This fan club expanded during the pandemic, providing members with exclusive backstage access, online performances, and unique merchandise.

“Cut Your Face” is the first in a series of three singles scheduled for this year, following the band’s highly-praised 2021 album, Into The Blue. Fans can look forward to The Joy Formidable’s return to North America in 2024.
