SYML Teams Up With Elsa Y Elmar On Single “My Best Self”

SYML, brainchild of singer-songwriter and producer Brian Fennell, has announced a collaboration with Colombian alt-pop sensation Elsa Y Elmar for their latest single, “My Best Self.”

Elsa Y Elmar, who is celebrated as a pivotal figure in Latin alternative pop, continues to shape a new era of music, drawing from her roots and past accolades, including her multiple Latin Grammy nominations. Speaking of this unique collaboration, Fennell conveys, “I am grateful to have found Elsa, who was graciously willing to join me on this song. Her voice is as gentle as it is commanding, and her work feels classically familiar.”

Echoing a similar sentiment, Elsa shared, “This song is very close to my heart, as it reflects that pivotal moment in life where you find yourself lost in the memories of your past self. Through the profound connection and love shared with others, you begin to unravel and embrace who you have become in the present.”

This release follows in the footsteps of SYML’s 2023 album, The Day My Father Died. A tribute to his adoptive father, the album showcases Fennell’s personal growth, healing, and his endeavor to find a path forward in the face of irrevocable change.

While fans in Los Angeles and San Francisco have already been treated to SYML’s performances over this weekend, his upcoming shows include a performance at Lunario in Mexico City on August 22nd and a much-anticipated appearance at the THING Festival in Port Townsend, WA, on August 25th.
