San Cisco Share Sun-Drenched Dance Single “Under The Light”
Australian indie trio San Cisco have shared their captivating new single “Under The Light,” which also includes an accompanying music video.
“Under The Light” is a result of a collaboration with Jay Watson, recognized from bands like GUM, Pond, and Tame Impala. Originally envisioned as a party track akin to Sia’s ‘Chandelier’, the song transformed into a deeper exploration of self-reflection and growth. Vocalist and drummer Scarlett Stevens commented, “We thought about a club where at the end of the night the lights come up and the truth is revealed. It became a metaphor for having a spotlight on us as people, and discovering hard truths about growing up.”
The accompanying music video, directed by Caely Wesson, showcases the ruins of Perth’s once-thriving theme park, Atlantis. Shot amidst the remnants of the park, including the iconic King Neptune statue, Wesson drew inspiration from the mythical world of Atlantis, playing on the song’s themes of reality and illusion.
