The Smashing Pumpkins Share “Spellbinding” Music Video
Iconic rock band The Smashing Pumpkins have released the official music video for their track, “Spellbinding,” taken from their recently released trilogy album, ATUM. The video is directed by Kevin Kerslake (Joan Jett, The Ramones) and features digital avatars of band members Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, James Iha, and Jeff Schroeder, set in the fictional universe of ATUM, created by frontman Billy Corgan.
Kerslake spoke about the making of the music video, stating, “We adopted a virtual production model for the ‘Spellbinding’ video, creating it entirely in the gaming engine; unreal, with digital avatars moving through fantastical worlds that play a key role in the ATUM storyline. Billy and I share an interest in the fusion of old-world elements with state of the art technology, and all the stars aligned on this video to break new ground.”
