Slowdive Tease Upcoming Album With New Song “skin in the game”

In anticipation of their forthcoming album, everything is alive, Slowdive has dropped a new single called “skin in the game.” The album is set for release on September 1st, 2023, via Dead Oceans.

“skin in the game” carries an ambiance of melancholy and poignancy, highlighted by Neil Halstead’s vocals that shine amidst the smoky arrangement. Halstead and his bandmates — vocalist and guitarist Rachel Goswell, guitarist Christian Savill, bassist Nick Chaplin, and drummer Simon Scott — continue to craft their unique sound on “everything is alive.”

Slowdive‘s album reflects a balance of their established sonic language and the joy of fresh starts. The album took shape as a “more minimal electronic record” in Halstead’s initial vision but evolved to encapsulate the band’s characteristic reverb-soaked guitars. The resulting sound blends psychedelic soundscapes, 80s electronic pulses, and the spirit of John Cale.

As the band ventures into the next chapter of their musical journey, they have announced a tour across North America, the UK, and Ireland. Tickets for the North American tour dates are nearly sold out, with availability only in Salt Lake City and St. Paul, and an added show in San Francisco.
