Mayday Parade Share New Single “Got Me All Wrong”

Mayday Parade is fueling this summer’s heat with their latest single, “Got Me All Wrong.” The release follows their spring single, “More Like A Crash,” and comes as Mayday Parade continues their vast string of tour dates across the United States.

Talking about the new single, Jake Bundrick, Mayday Parade’s drummer, shares the heartfelt story saying, “’Got Me All Wrong’ is about falling hard for someone but the other person isn’t on the same page. I met my wife on Warped Tour and the song is roughly about that. It didn’t happen immediately like I wanted but it eventually did and that’s what the song is about.”

After finishing their record deal with their seventh studio album, What It Means To Fall Apart, Mayday Parade decided to take the reins of their musical journey. This newfound freedom, as explained by bassist Jeremy Lenzo, will enable the band to “release new music more consistently as opposed to dropping an album every couple of years.”

The band has been meticulous in crafting their new music. “We always stew on the songs we’re working on to make sure they’re ready to be recorded,” Lenzo states. This approach has led to a new energy in their music, which Bundrick hopes will maintain their distinctive emotional flair.

Having nearly two decades of playing and releasing music under their belt, Mayday Parade attributes their longevity to their strong friendship and passion for their craft. “This is everyone’s full time job and passion. We all love playing music, so the fire is still alive. We have created something important to us and it’s imperative that we maintain it by giving it the requisite attention,” explains guitarist Alex Garcia.

Mayday Parade, comprising Derek Sanders, Alex Garcia, Brooks Betts, Jeremy Lenzo, and Jake Brundrick, is expected to bring their new tunes, including “Got Me All Wrong”, to various stages across North American. See tour dates below.
