DJ Seinfeld & Confidence Man Debut Summer Anthem “Now U Do”

DJ Seinfeld and Confidence Man have released a collaborative single, “Now U Do,” out now via Ninja Tune. This uplifting summer anthem, described by Seinfeld as a “quirky, naive ode to all the summer flings out there,” hits the airwaves just in time to enhance the joyous spirit of the ongoing festival season.

Swedish producer DJ Seinfeld shared the backstory of the collaboration with the Australian electronic-pop group, Confidence Man, saying, “I had hung out with Confidence Man a couple of times and always had an absolute blast, so last time I was in Melbourne we just went into the studio and it was really just more fun. I showed them a bunch of stuff that I was working on and they instantly reacted to the track that became ‘Now U Do’.”

The collaboration resulted in a swiftly produced track that had all involved in high spirits. Seinfeld reminisced, “I don’t think it took more than a few hours before the track and vocals were ironed out. We were all bouncing around and enjoying it in their studio so I’ve just had this really giddy-up feeling about it ever since.”

Confidence Man provided their own upbeat perspective on the single, stating, “‘Conman x Seinfeld is an inner trip that takes you somewhere sexy and expensive, without even having to get the plane to Ibiza. And when we sell out we sell out hard and we sell out fast. Leave nothing unsold. Goddamn, if this ain’t a hit, I dunno what the hell is.'”

The release of “Now U Do” comes nearly two years after DJ Seinfeld‘s successful 2021 album Mirrors, also released on Ninja Tune. The album received widespread praise, featuring in Resident Advisor, Pitchfork, and Clash Magazine. In addition, Seinfeld was featured on Mixmag’s cover and launched a highly-acclaimed live show that toured The Warehouse Project, Printworks, Primavera, North America, and Australia.

For Confidence Man, “Now U Do” follows their recent collaboration with UK producer Daniel Avery on the single “On & On (Again).” The group has recently performed at Primavera and Glastonbury, even curating a stage in 2023, and performing on the Park Stage in 2022. Their 2022 sophomore album TILT marked their ascent as one of the hottest dance music acts in the scene.
