Yellowcard Sign To Equal Vision Records, Announce EP & Tour
Yellowcard has made an exciting announcement that they signed with Equal Vision Records, who will be releasing their highly anticipated EP titled Childhood Eyes on July 7, 2023. This EP will mark Yellowcard‘s first new material since their self-titled album in 2016.
The decision to join Equal Vision Records came after Yellowcard reunited in 2022 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough album Ocean Avenue at Riot Fest in Chicago. The creative energy and chemistry they felt during this reunion sparked a desire to create new music. The band found themselves in Texas, penning the five songs that make up the Childhood Eyes EP.
Ryan Key, the lead vocalist and guitarist of Yellowcard, expressed his excitement about the signing and the new EP. He shared, “I just wanted to let you know how excited we are to be releasing our new EP Childhood Eyes on Equal Vision Records. The fact that we’re going to have a record on the same imprint as Saves the Day is so cool for all of us. Thank you so much to the Equal Vision family for having us and working so hard to make this EP for you all. We’re looking forward to getting on tour this summer as well.”
Equal Vision Records also expressed their enthusiasm for the collaboration. Matthew Gordner from Equal Vision Records said, “Equal Vision Records holds great admiration for Yellowcard‘s exceptional artistic creativity and profound originality; we are thrilled to be afforded the opportunity to contribute to their success during this exciting new chapter.”
The EP’s first single and title track, “Childhood Eyes,” showcases Yellowcard‘s signature sound with a modern twist. The song combines powerful melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and vibrant electronic elements. It represents the essence of the EP and captures the band’s renewed energy and tight chemistry.
