The Zombies Announce North American “Different Game” Tour Dates

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees and winners of South By Southwest’s (SXSW) 2023 Grulke Prize for “The Career Act Prize,” The Zombies, have announced a four-week North American tour. Starting this October, the tour comes as a celebration of their critically acclaimed new album, Different Game. Tickets for all tour dates are now available now for purchase.

Despite the impressive duration of their 6-decade career, The Zombies have not lost their passion for creating new music. As founding keyboardist and primary songwriter Rod Argent shared, “There are bands that I revere and adore, but many of them all seemed to stop…. at least in terms of having the same enthusiasm and energy for creating new stuff. That’s the reason I’m in this, to carry on with the creation of new music, because that’s so enticing. It’s so lovely. And to be 77 years old and to be told the other day that the algorithms show the main audience on streaming is between 22 and 37. That’s ridiculous, quite ridiculous. But again, very satisfying.”

Their 10-year anniversary at the renowned SXSW festival was celebrated as The Zombies earned the prestigious Grulke Prize for “The Career Act Prize”. Coinciding with their SXSW appearances, the band also premiered a new feature documentary, “Hung Up On A Dream,” which chronicles their journey from formation in 1961 to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2019.

The Zombies began working on Different Game following their 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction and a US tour with The Beach Boys‘ Brian Wilson. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic impacting their plans, they refused to settle for remote recording and treated fans to new song previews through a live-streamed concert from Abbey Road Studios in 2021.

With influences ranging from Bach’s Mass in B minor to Beach Boys-esque harmonies, their latest 10-track album, Different Game, invites comparisons to the original Zombies’ 1968 masterpiece, Odessey and Oracle.
