Model Child Releases New Single “Into The Water”

Danny Parker, also known as Model Child, has unveiled his latest track “Into The Water.” Known for his contributions to Jessie Ware‘s latest album That! Feels Good!, Parker brings his pop prowess into this mesmerizing aquatic-themed tune.

“We started with the drums and that big, booming synth bass sound. It reminded me of waves crashing on a shore… ‘Into the Water’ is about that ‘awe-feeling’ you get when you dive into the experience of the moment,” Parker explained, recounting his inspiration and the recording process for the song.

Based in New York City, Parker is renowned for his punk ethos, razor-sharp songwriting, and unique perspectives, all of which add a unique flair to the current music scene. He spent his formative years in Virginia, playing in punk and experimental bands at basement house shows, before diving headfirst into the professional world of songwriting in Los Angeles.

Since then, Parker has contributed to hit songs for some of the biggest names in the pop industry, including Shawn Mendes, Britney Spears, Nick Jonas, and Zedd, among others. Despite this, he always prioritized the song, irrespective of its genre. “I enjoy great songs of any genre,” says Parker. “It’s always about the song for me.”

Six years into his songwriting career, Parker started Model Child, a project which allowed him to write and perform songs that fused traditional pop elements with his personal lyricism. This led to the release of the album Dropout in 2020, and the EP Unscrewed in 2021.
