Sum 41 Announce Breakup After 27 Years

Canadian pop-punk band Sum 41 has announced that they will be disbanding after 27 years together. The group made the announcement on social media, expressing their gratitude to their fans for their support throughout the years.

“Being in Sum 41 since 1996 brought us some of the best moments of our lives,” the band said in a statement. “We are forever grateful to our fans both old and new, who have supported us in every way.”

Sum 41 has released seven studio albums since forming in 1996, with their hit song “Fat Lip” becoming an instant classic upon its release in 2001. The band has been a staple of the pop-punk scene for over two decades, and their announcement of disbandment will surely come as a shock to their legions of fans.

Despite the news of their break-up, the band confirmed that they will be finishing their current tour, where they are touring Norht America with The Offspring and Simple Plan. They are also planning a final worldwide headlining tour to celebrate their career. They will also be releasing their final album, Heaven :x: Hell.

The band’s statement ended with a note of optimism for the future. “For now, we look forward to seeing all of you skumfuks on the road and are excited for what the future will bring to each of us,” they said.
