Movements Announce New Album “RUCKUS!”
Southern California rock band Movements has announced their new album, “RUCKUS!,” is set to be released on August 18th, 2023, via Fearless Records, and pre-orders are already available. Produced by Will Yip, the band has dedicated several months to exploring their creative boundaries and crafting new material.
As part of the announcement, Movements has shared the music video for their song “Fail You,” which exemplifies the band’s signature style. The track showcases the interplay between chunky guitar riffs, impactful percussion, and the emotive vocals of lead singer Patrick Miranda. It’s a quintessential Movements track that resonates deeply with fans, who often passionately sing along to the choruses during live shows. The energetic and urgent chorus of “Fail You” is sure to ignite mosh pits nationwide.
According to Miranda, “Fail You” encompasses the core elements of a classic Movements song while also embracing a newer, more modern sound. The lyrics delve into the fear of disappointing and losing someone you love, as well as the weight of reliving past mistakes and the haunting effects of wrongdoing. “It’s a song about the fear of letting someone down and losing someone you love — reliving the mistakes over and over again and being haunted by all of your wrongdoings. Fans of both the new and old sounds will find something to love with this one,” expresses Miranda.

In addition to “Fail You,” Movements had previously released music videos for the songs “Killing Time” and “Lead Pipe” earlier this spring. Directed by Drew Horen, these videos offer further glimpses into the band’s evolving musical direction.
Despite their recent success, evidenced by the #3 debut of their 2020 album No Good Left to Give on the Alternative chart and a significant increase in streaming numbers, Movements has continuously reinvented themselves since their formation in 2015. Their third full-length album, RUCKUS!, further pushes the boundaries of their post-hardcore sound, incorporating elements from punk, pop songcraft, and unexpected influences such as Gorillaz and The Strokes. Produced by Will Yip, known for his work with Circa Survive and Code Orange, the album defies genre conventions, offering a unique and expansive sonic experience.
To create RUCKUS!, the band embarked on three extended trips to Yip’s Studio 4 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, where they wrote and recorded the collection of songs. Miranda expresses his confidence in the record, stating that the process was streamlined, resulting in the band’s best music to date. By integrating diverse influences into their sound, Movements seeks to challenge preconceptions and deliver an album that stands apart.
