Legendary rock band Dinosaur Jr. is set to embark on a special series of shows to commemorate the 30th anniversary of their iconic album, Where You Been. The band, known for their influential sound and contributions to the grunge movement, will perform the album in its entirety during these highly anticipated concerts. Fans around the world are buzzing with excitement as the original trio of J Mascis, Lou Barlow, and Murph reunite for these milestone shows.
Released in 1993, Where You Been was a pivotal moment for Dinosaur Jr. as their second major label release. During the height of the grunge movement, the album made its mark, reaching #50 on the Billboard charts. Over the years, it has become evident that the band’s sound, initially regarded as a form of “almost-tamed noise,” was actually a unique blend of pop-infused rock music. Their unmistakable melodies and post-hardcore song structures have influenced subsequent generations of bands, leading listeners to appreciate the depth and beauty within Dinosaur Jr.‘s music.
In 2023, three decades since its release, Dinosaur Jr. will treat fans to an unforgettable live experience. The original lineup of J Mascis, Lou Barlow, and Murph will perform Where You Been in its entirety across four consecutive nights at London’s Garage in November. Following that, they will take the celebration to Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg for seven nights in December. The band’s thunderous catalog will also be featured each night, ensuring an electrifying atmosphere.
To enhance the celebratory nature of these shows, Dinosaur Jr. has promised an array of special guests and friends joining them on stage. This lineup of surprise appearances will undoubtedly amplify the excitement and deliver an experience like no other. Fans can expect a mix of nostalgia and fresh interpretations as the band delves into their extensive discography, delivering their signature combination of powerful riffs, infectious beats, and heartfelt lyrics.
Tickets for these highly anticipated shows will be available for pre-sale starting tomorrow at 10 AM EST. General ticket sales will begin on Thursday, May 25th, also at 10 AM EST.
