happydaze Announce “Full Free Radical” EP & Share Title Track

Edinburgh-based rock band, happydaze, has announced the release of their new EP, Full Free Radical, which is set to be released on May 12th, 2023, via Thriller Records. The EP marks a new milestone for the band, who has been making waves in the UK music scene with their energetic and catchy rock sound.

To give fans a taste of what’s to come, happydaze has released the title track single, “(Full Free) Radical,” along with a retro-inspired music video. Produced by Mike Green, who has worked with New Found Glory, All Time Low, and Real Friends, the track features the band’s signature sound, complete with a sing-along chorus that’s sure to become a summer anthem.

The music video, with its VHS feel and 90s vibe, perfectly complements the song’s message of chaos and taking risks. Vocalist Luke Bovill’s lyrics encourage listeners to blow up their lives and go full free radical, while emphasizing the importance of perspective and learning to fly to find your way.

“(Full Free) Radical” shines a light on chaos, “blow up my life/go full free radical.” making the decision that changes everything. Lyrics speak to perspective, “now I got your ticket lets go for the ride/you say it ain’t different it’s the same every time.” On the second verse it’s about how it doesn’t hurt, you just need to “learn how to fly” to find your way,” explains Bovill.

“Full Free Radical” is the first taste of what fans can expect from the EP, which promises to showcase happydaze‘s growth as a band. The group has come a long way since their early days in an abandoned barn, and their dedication to their craft is evident in their music.

Talking about the EP, Bovill shared, “Full Free Radical is the product of the last year of our lives. It’s about the decisions you make that change your life forever, the coming and going of people on your journey and taking care of the important things along the way. We have spent the last year finding out who we are as a band while finishing this record, wanting to make something that felt familiar but also new and exciting. The songs are honest, real and the truest representation of who we are as a band so far, we can’t wait to give them away to the world.”
