Beach Fossils Share New Single “Run To The Moon”
Brooklyn-based indie rock band Beach Fossils have unveiled their latest single and accompanying video, “Run to the Moon,” from their highly anticipated album Bunny, which is set to be released on June 2nd, 2023, via Bayonet Records.
“Run to the Moon” is heartfelt song captures frontman Dustin Payseur’s emotional journey from fear to joy as he reflects on becoming a father to his daughter.
The self-directed video, featuring cinematography and color by Luke Atlas, showcases the genuine friendship shared among the band members, adding a humorous touch to the heartfelt track. The track processes this colossal shift about “having absolute freedom, the fear of losing it, but then tapping into myself in a way that felt more real,” as described by Payseur.

Bunny is described as Beach Fossils‘ most vivid, grounded, and personal work to date, delving into themes such as depression, love, adventure, loss, mistakes, New York City, and friendships. Payseur’s collage-like lyrics convey tone and mood, drawing inspiration from notable New York poets, like Frank O’Hara, Ted Berrigan, and Anne Waldman, and the Tao Te Ching.
Musically, Bunny continues to evolve Beach Fossils‘ sound, incorporating elements from their previous works, while also placing a stronger emphasis on pop structure. Produced and recorded by Payseur himself, with mixing by Lars Stalfors, known for his work with The Mars Volta, the album promises to be a significant milestone for the band.
Beach Fossils are currently on tour in Australia and will be returning to the United States for their first show of 2023 in June, with more tour dates expected to be announced soon.
