Boy Deluxe Share “Left Behind”Video

Los Angeles-based dark pop duo Boy Deluxe, composed of siblings Hope and True Murra, has just released a new music video for their single “Left Behind,” which first debuted last year.

The track is a moody, mid-tempo electronic ballad that delves into the emotional complexities of feeling special yet overlooked, and it features True’s signature production and Hope’s haunting vocals. Hope herself wrote that “Left Behind” is a powerful reflection of the beauty of individuality and the strength it takes to shine in a world that often fails to recognize our true worth, conveying a message of hope and resilience.

“The song’s haunting synths, shimmering soundscapes, and introspective lyrics paint a vivid picture of the struggle to find one’s place in a world that often overlooks what makes us special.  ‘Left Behind’ conveys a sense of hope and resilience, reminding listeners to never give up on the pursuit of their true selves. ‘Left Behind’ is a powerful meditation on the beauty of individuality and the strength it takes to shine in a world that often fails to see our true worth,” shared Hope.

In 2021, the band released their EP RISEN, which delves into themes of personal power, relationship endings, societal greed, and finding hope amidst grief and loss. The EP was a reflection of Boy Deluxe’s experiences during the pandemic, and it showcased the duo’s ability to transmute pain into their best work yet.

Speaking on the EP, Hope said: “The songs on RISEN are a reflection of the grief, loss, and outrage felt during the pandemic, but they’re also songs about finding yourself, hope, and rebirth.”

In February, the duo recently supported Crook during their residency at The Echo, Los Angeles. In addition to their latest video release, Boy Deluxe has more new music in the pipeline for 2023.
