The album was created during a difficult time for the artist, who lost a sister to cancer and gave birth to two children during the pandemic. Despite facing challenges, Johnson states that creating the album helped her heal and remember why she started making music. “There is a reason in the seasons of your life,” she says.
Johnson has gained a massive and loyal international fan following as a singer-songwriter and actress, lending her soulful sound and passionate songwriting style to both film and TV. She has successfully funded her Skipping Stone EP and album Let ‘Em Eat Cake through Kickstarter and PledgeMusic, respectively. The upcoming album Seasons has been funded entirely by her thriving Patreon community.
Seasons was written and recorded remotely at Johnson‘s home studio during the pandemic, with Australian duo Paul Beard and James Lewis of Disruptive Entertainment on production and mixing. Through her art, Alexz Johnson has been able to create a quality life for herself and her family, thanks to the unwavering support of her fans.
