Tove Lo Shares New Video, “Borderline”
Swedish superstar Tove Lo has released a new single called “Borderline,” along with an official music video, which serves as a sequel to the well-received “No One Dies from Love.” Tove Lo is currently on her sold-out 2023 North American DIRT FEMME TOUR and has been making waves with her critically acclaimed fifth studio album, also called DIRT FEMME.
In a statement about the new track, Tove Lo explained, “”Borderline” is a song about being on the edge of love. The drama you cause inside yourself and with another person if you feel insecure. You test them. This song has existed for a long time and I’ve always felt it was incredibly special so getting to release it now has sort of a full circle feeling. Maybe that’s why it was the perfect song for Annie’s revenge video. I hope my fans love the bizarre love story that unfolds in this video, it’s my favorite kind of thing!”
Tove Lo’s DIRT FEMME album is considered her most confessional to date, showcasing deeply raw confessions and experiences disguised as dance-floor-ready tracks. The album was well received by both fans and critics and has already accumulated over 300 million global streams. Tove Lo has always been known for her honesty and fearlessness, which has earned her a large and loyal following.
The Sweden-born, Los Angeles-based, artist made waves worldwide with her platinum-certified 2014 full-length debut, Queen of the Clouds, which included the hit songs “Habits (Stay High)” and “Talking Body.” In DIRT FEMME, Tove Lo embraces her femininity in a way she hasn’t before. “When I was coming up, I would lean into my masculine traits, because it’s how I thought I would fit into every room of the boys’ club,” she says. “However, that has shifted. The feminine traits of all people, not just women, are celebrated. And I have my own definition of feminine now.”
