The Moldy Peaches Announce First US Headline Show In 20 Years

The Moldy Peaches will be performing their first US headline show in 20 years on August 10th, 2023, at Brooklyn Steel, New York City. Tickets will be on-sale from February 17 at 10 AM EST.

This performance is a part of the band’s larger comeback tour, which also includes their first European shows in 20 years. The European leg of the tour will kick off with a date at London’s Roundhouse on May 29th, followed by performances at Primavera Sound Barcelona on June 2nd and Primavera Sound Madrid on June 9th.

The Moldy Peaches was established in the mid-90s by Adam Green and Kimya Dawson after they met in upstate New York. They became a six-piece live band with the addition of Brent Cole, Jack Dishel, Toby Goodshank, and Steven Mertens. Following the release of their self-titled debut album, The Moldy Peaches, on Rough Trade Records in 2001, they went on tour with The Strokes to promote the album.

Known for their quirky, lo-fi punk sound and sense of humor, The Moldy Peaches were a cult favorite during their time together. Their debut album featured songs such as “Downloading Porn With Dave” and “Who’s Got The Crack,” which showcased the band’s irreverent approach to music.

The band parted ways in 2002, with members pursuing their solo careers. However, their song “Anyone Else But You” became a hit after it was featured in the soundtrack of the Academy Award-winning 2007 film Juno, which reignited the album’s cult popularity.

This upcoming show will mark the band’s first performance as a full band in over a decade, and the band members have expressed their excitement to be back on stage together. “We’re excited to be back, older, and moldier. Let’s see if we still got it! Once a Moldy Peach, always a Moldy Peach,” the band wrote.

The Moldy Peaches founding members, Adam Green and Kimya Dawson, played their first show together in 11 years in 2022 for the Los Angeles and Seattle premieres of the documentary Meet Me In The Bathroom, which documented the New York music scene of the early 2000s.
