The Lemon Twigs Announce New Album, “Everything Harmony”
The Lemon Twigs, the Long Island duo, has announced the release of their fourth studio album titled, Everything Harmony. The album consists of 13 tracks and is the follow-up to their 2020 album, Songs For The General Public. It is set to be released on May 5th, 2023, and fans can pre-order or pre-save it via Captured Tracks.
According to the band, Everything Harmony was entirely written, recorded, produced, and engineered by the duo between Manhattan, Brooklyn, and San Francisco’s Hyde Street Studios. The album was inspired by the likes of Simon & Garfunkel, Arthur Russell, and Moondog, and “swings between moments of depression and isolation and episodes of dizzying euphoria,” as stated in the press release.
The album features the latest single, “Any Time Of Day,” which is accompanied by an official video directed by Ambar Navarro (Soccer Mommy, Momma). The video was heavily inspired by 60s television live performances and references The Carpenters, Tom Petty, and The Monkees‘ TV show. The Lemon Twigs explained that they were hired to write material and act in an interactive TV show about an imaginary 70s brother band. They wrote a bunch of KISS-type songs for the soundtrack, including “Any Time Of Day,” which wasn’t quite right for the show, so they held it back. The song itself is about the cyclical nature of life, with everything going on and on. “Out with the old, in with the new!” they said.
