Quavo Shares Takeoff Tribute Song, “Greatness”

Quavo, a member of the hip-hop group Migos, has released a new tribute song called “Greatness” in memory of his late bandmate and nephew Takeoff.

In the song, Quavo reminisces about the good times he shared with Takeoff and expresses his grief and longing for his friend’s company once again. The song’s video features Quavo surrounded by luxury cars and jewelry as he laments that he would give away all his riches just to see his friend one more time. He also hints at tension between himself and fellow Migos member, Offset, but ultimately pays tribute to the group as a whole, acknowledging that he couldn’t have achieved greatness without them. “So don’t ask about the group, He gone, we gone, young n—a, it can’t come back,” he raps on the track.

“Greatness” is the second tribute song that Quavo has released since Takeoff‘s death in November of 2022, the first being “Without You.” The emotional lyrics and powerful imagery of the “Greatness” video serve as a reminder that even in the midst of great success, we can still experience deep grief and longing for those we have lost.
