Ledfoot & Ronni Le Tekrø Announce “Limited Edition Lava Lamp”

Ledfoot and Ronni Le Tekrø have confirmed their second collaborative album, Limited Edition Lava Lamp, will be released on March 24, 2023, via TBC Records.

Limited Edition Lava Lamp follows the critical success of their first album, A Death Divine, which was released in 2021. The album is already available for pre-order and features a limited edition 180g vinyl gatefold in lava lamp color. In anticipation of the release, the first single, “Ego In The Coffin,” was released on January 13th, 2023.

For Limited Edition Lava Lamp, Ledfoot and Ronni Le Tekrø received some musical reinforcements, resulting in an album that is far more commercially accessible than its predecessor. One of the standout tracks on the album is a bluesy cover of “Sister” from the movie “The Color Purple.” Ronni Le Tekrø had previously sung the song live, and for the album, he wrote a new introduction and rearranged the song slightly to make it a tribute to all sisters everywhere.

The album was produced by veteran and Americana connoisseur HP Gundersen (The Last Hurrah!!, Sondre Lerche), with mastering by Winter Lazerus (Tom Waits, Pink Floyd). They were joined by an impressive group of musicians, including Anders Odden (Cadaver, Satyricon), Markus O Klyve (Betty Stjernen), Trond Augland, and HP Gundersen. With HP Gundersen at the helm, the musical expression on the album has shifted to a more accessible sound that will reach a wider audience.

Recorded in just eight days at Studio Nyhagen, the studio of Ronni Le Tekrø, the songs on Limited Edition Lava Lamp are inspired by a variety of musical influences, including The Beatles, David Bowie, The White Stripes, and many others. Ledfoot’s vocals have never been better, and Ronni Le Tekrø’s unique guitar playing is a standout on the album.

According to Ledfoot, after their first album, the duo decided it was time to get serious and put a band together. The result is the impressive lineup of musicians on Limited Edition Lava Lamp. As Ledfoot explains, “Get ready for a wild ride!” Ronni Le Tekrø agrees, “On our second album, we have been digging deeper, exploring, and uniting our different styles. With the help of our band, The Sailors, we had a great time recording this album.
