Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter Shares New Solo Single
Daft Punk co-founder Thomas Bangalter has released the first track, “L’Accouchement,” from his upcoming solo album Mythologies, which is out April 7th, 2023, via Erato/Warner Classics.
Thomas Bangalter is heading in a new musical direction for his solo material. ‘L’Accouchement” comes from the Angelin Preljocaj ballet (“Mythologies”), which was performed in France back in 2022, and sees Bangalter abandon his electronic hardware in favor of Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine arrangements.
This is the first time the full composition has been available publicly, outside of those that attended the ballet, and comes ahead of the eagerly anticipated album. Mythologies, which was originally commissioned by choreographer Angelin Preljocaj, is 90-minutes long and contains 23-tracks. This marks the French man’s first score as a solo artist in over 20 years (“Irréversible”). Bangalter worked with Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, as Daft Punk, for the critically acclaimed score for “Tron: Legacy.”
