Skrillex teams up with Fred again.. & Flowdan

Grammy-winning artist Skrillex has teamed up with London producer Fred again.. and grime MC Flowdan for his new track, ‘Rumble’, released on January 4th 2023.

‘Rumble’ adopts elements of grime and bass while stretching adding elements of Skrillex’s signature experimental electronic sound. At two-and-half-minutes, the song packs a punch after the peak through deep, heavy, bass notes and spices up the melody with a pitch-induced vocal bridge. Flowdan’s sinister “killers in the jungle” rings throughout the chorus that matches the attitude of his verses, which sees lyrics like “they better move up, never gonna win a Royal Rumble” and “shots gettin’ fired in a warzone”.

First teased by Fred again.. during his London Boiler Room set in July 2022, ‘Rumble’ has been a hotly-anticipated release by Skrillex. This releases comes after another collaborative single announcement with London-based producer PinkPantheress and Trippie Redd which is due out January 5th 2023.

Both of these songs are likely to appear on Skrillex’s upcoming double album, which he teased on New Year’s Day on Instagram. This will mark his first solo album since 2014’s ‘Recess’, which peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200. The announcement was captioned as “QFF/DGTC 23”, with the acronyms widely understood to stand for the albums names coming in 2023.
