Boygenius Announce Long-Awaited Debut Album, “The Record”
Comprised of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, Boygenius has confirmed their debut album, The Record, is out on March 31st via Interscope.
In conjunction to the long-awaited debut album, Boygenius has shared three tracks from the upcoming release. The three-song teaser includes the songs “$20″ (written and sung by Baker), “Emily I’m Sorry” (Bridgers) and “True Blue” (Dacus). The Record was recorded and self-produced in Rick Rubin’s Malibu studio, Shangri-La.
Rumors of a release begun circulating earlier this year when Boygenius was confirmed to perform at Coachella. The three previously assembled to release an EP in 2018 and released a demos EP two years later. Since then, the group has remained relatively inactive. Bridgers heavily toured in success of her Grammy-nominated album Punisher, Baker released Little Oblivions to huge critic acclaim, and Dacus achieved similar accolades for Home Video.
